Raymond Blanc leaves the John Radcliffe Hospital
17 March 2010:
Raymond Blanc, Chef Patron of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, who suffered a fall downstairs at his Oxfordshire home, breaking his leg and ankle in six places, has left the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Since the accident on 1 March, Raymond has had two operations to set the broken bones in his tibia and ankle - at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. “I’m thrilled to announce that I will be leaving theJohn Radcliffe – today – the 17 March which coincides with the 26th Anniversary of Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons! What could be more fitting than returning to the place where I have shared so much success and so many memories with friends and family? I cannot praise highly enough the surgeons and staff of the John Radcliffe,” he continued. “They have looked after me exceptionally well and made sure I did not suffer unnecessary pain. I am trying to look at this as an opportunity to write at least one of the books I have been meaning to get around to. “I shall recuperate at Le Manoir as I have to stay off my feet for another twelve weeks. However, this means that I can work with my team – led by Philip Newman-Hall Director General Manager and my two brilliant generals - my Executive Chef, Gary Jones and Chef Patissiier, Benoit Blin. I am privileged to be supported by the best professionals with whom I have worked with for many years and who also share the same vision of excellence. I place my complete trust into their professionalism and I know they will provide you with the very best experience."
