FRIDAY 30 OCTOBER 2009                              A BUSY DAY IN THE LIFE

 
6am up. 7am at Le Manoir. Best time alone. Ordered breakfast on my desk a hand written notes from the waiter - dear RB ( that is what I am called) 'bon appetit'. I smile, my heart grateful for both the breakfast and this thoughtful young waiter. At that precise moment I am so thankful to my wonderful team. The smile vanishes  when I look at the diary!

8.30 am - RB cooks with 10 kids all about 6 to 7, my god, they going to kill me! They nearly did (next tweet)

10.30 - 6.30 - Full on filming on my next cookery programe: "Raymond Blanc Kitchen Secrets" (thank god it is kitchen. Great day cooking , even if  the cameras are 6 or 8 steps behind!!! Enjoy the  sharing, the passing on of informations , the conversation with the eyes of the camera (the viewers). I am completly gone in my world. All of the lines blur, craft, full on creativity, the noble produce - speak, go to the heart of the food, share, connect, enthuse, make people smile, Raymond, cook your heart out - it feels great. 

The large blade slicing, the butter foaming ready to receive the the raw ingredients from sea, air and earth, the gentle sizzling .... 

Every thing is all right. Film, start, stop, say it again, no stronger, clearer, stop, change of batteries, the day passes as a single second ... I am nackered, is it the kids or the cameras?

No, it is not, the kids did not kill me and the session today was great, the probleme is - jump in a black tie, transform myself into a black crow... And late, very late. , the chauffeur will whisk you to London to celebrate the ... our new programe. ... The Restaurant

It is 12.30 am .... How many expressos tomorrow. To wake up?

7am ...... And I LOVE It!
