In Lyon, 19 countries competed for La Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie 2011. The countries who participated are listed below. The judges of the competition were the presidents of each team, also shown (in bold):

Late last night the winners were announced:

1st: Spain
2nd: Italy
3rd: Belgium



The UK came 9th, which is an honourable position and the UK team did us proud. Benoit’s words were sound and right. We need to train, invest and support our young people to eventually compete at the highest level.

The nation should be proud of the achievements of the UK team and their collective effort. We at Le Manoir are certainly very proud of Benoit.

Remember “tout est possible”, we’ll be back in two years time.
